There are four major types of pathogens
There are four major types of pathogens that can cause disease: fungi, parasites, bacteria, and viruses. Some pathogens are passed from person to person through direct contact while others live in the soil or water.
Although not fun to think about, it's extremely important to understand the differences and how they can infect you. All are microorganisms that can cause harm to our bodies - as well as fatalities. Understanding what makes a specific type of pathogen different from others could mean the difference between life & death.
The Differences Between Fungi and Parasites
Fungi include yeast, molds, and mushrooms. Of the 1.5 million species of fungi in the world, only about 300 of these cause illness in humans. Fungi reproduce by releasing spores that can be picked up via direct contact or inhalation. These spores are often present in air and soil, where they can be inhaled or come into contact with the surfaces of the body, primarily the skin. Some fungal diseases can be caused by inhaling mold spores – various types of mold are often found on plants or in soil. Mold can also grow indoors on food, spices, and damp areas like shower tile or basement flooring.
Parasites are either a plant or animal organisms that live on or in a host organism and get its food from or at the expense of its host. There are three main classes of parasites that can cause disease in humans: protozoa, helminths, and ectoparasites. Parasitic infections can be spread in a number of ways, though parasites usually enter the body through the mouth or skin. Protozoa and helminths can be spread through contaminated water, food, waste, soil, and blood. Some parasites can be passed through sexual contact. Others are spread by insects that act as vectors, or carrier, of the disease. Malaria is a vector-borne disease, caused by a parasitic protozoa, which causes a significant burden of disease in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia.

Regular detoxification can also assist your body to overcome these pathogens.
